Co-Founder, CEO & CTO
Sandeep co-founded Equity Data Science in 2017 and serves as the company’s Chairman and CEO. His unique experience includes computer science, fundamental analysis, and data science. Prior to founding EDS, Sandeep was a quantitative analyst at Bridger Capital and a quantitative and fundamental analyst at Herring Creek Capital, a hedge fund founded by Steve Galbraith where he developed a proprietary quantitative platform for idea generation and risk management. Prior to that, he was a quantitative analyst at Credit Suisse where his responsibilities included portfolio and risk analysis and quantitative modeling for the Prime Brokerage and Securities desks. Before joining Credit Suisse in 2008, Sandeep developed and managed trading and risk management systems at Lehman Brothers and UBS. Sandeep received his Master of Engineering in Computer Science from Cornell University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Co-Founder, President & CFO
Greg McCall co-founded Equity Data Science in 2017 and serves as the Company’s President and CFO. Greg spent three decades as a Fundamental Technology Analyst/Portfolio Manager and was an early investment team member/partner of multiple billion dollar-plus funds, including WestWay Capital, a pioneering technology fund focused on disruptive change. Greg was also a Portfolio Manager at Sage Asset Management and the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Rock Crest Capital. Greg received his degree in finance from the University of Massachusetts, while competing as a member of a D1 gymnastics team.
Chief Data Scientist
Ben joined EDS early on as Vice President of Product and Quantitative Engineering. He started his career as a quantitative analyst at Credit Suisse where he first met Sandeep, our CEO. He went on to lead the analytics group at Shapeways 3D Printing, a prominent tech startup, after which he joined Raveneur Investment Fund as their quantitative analyst. He then went on to Cross River, a venture-backed technology focused bank, to develop their retail banking product and lead the bank’s quantitative credit modeling effort. Ben graduated first in his class from Rutgers with concentrations in Math and Physics. He also has a Financial Engineering master’s degree from UC Berkeley and a Product Management MBA from Cornell University.
Chief Architect
Naofumi joined EDS in 2018 as its Chief Architect. He leads the engineering team with a focus on software development and infrastructure setup for the firm. Naofumi has almost a decade of experience in software engineering, and is an Oracle Certified Developer and AWS certified solutions architect. Prior to EDS, Naofumi was a Senior Software Engineer at EY where he developed an investment research platform. Before then he was a Senior Consultant for Argo Group where he worked on a web project for HEARST. Naofumi received his degree in Political Science from SUNY Albany, and his MA in Computer Science from Queens college.
Head of Customer Success
Erin Greenfield joined EDS in 2021 as the Company’s Head of Customer Success, building structure to EDS’s customer success processes and helping ensure that clients are receiving the most value out of the EDS platform. Prior to joining EDS, Erin worked at FactSet for 15 years. While at FactSet she spent most of her career in various customer support and sales roles, both as an individual contributor and a manager. During her time at FactSet, she worked closely with asset managers and hedge funds to understand their investment process, unique pain points and how to improve it with technology. After FactSet, she joined a startup called Addepar, where she focused on business development. Most recently, Erin was at Black Mountain as a Relationship Manager which was subsequently acquired by Vista Equity and became Allvue. She has extensive experience working with Fintech SaaS solutions at various stages of growth. Erin graduated from University of Albany business administration with a concentration in finance and MSI.
Head of Marketing
Theresa Elamparo joined EDS in 2021 as the Head of Marketing and leads all brand, marketing and communications strategies. Theresa brings 20+ years of marketing communications experience, most of which was serving the fintech community. She was most recently the Chief Marketing Officer at Tier1 Financial Solutions where she was the recipient of the 2019 Markets Media Women in Finance award for Excellence in Marketing and Communications for her work leading Tier1’s rebrand and building the firm’s marketing organization. Prior to that, she held marketing leadership roles at fintech firms including Ipreo, Investment Technology Group and Tradeweb Markets. Theresa received a B.S. in Business Management from Kean University.
Head of Sales
Jen Vermuelen joined EDS in 2021 as the Company’s Head of Sales to lead all sales acquisition efforts and new business development. For more than 20 years, Jen spent most of her career at FactSet focused on sales, both as an individual contributor and a sales manager. Throughout that time, she worked closely with hedge funds, asset managers, wealth management firms, and plan sponsors, understanding their investment process and improving it with technology. For five years, Jen managed a highly successful, new business team at FactSet, based out of New York. Most recently, she came from Allvue Systems where she sold an enterprise SaaS solution to private equity firms. Jen graduated from Providence College with a concentration in business management and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Prior to forming Kindred Capital in 2016, Steve was the Founder of Herring Creek Capital, an equity long-short strategy focused on identifying large investment themes and anomalies that will flow through to individual stock selection in liquid equities across the entire capitalization spectrum
Prior to forming Herring Creek Capital in November 2012, Steve was a Partner at Maverick Capital where he had portfolio and general management responsibilities and Chaired the firm’s Advisory Committee.
Before joining Maverick in 2004, Steve was the Chief Investment Officer at Morgan Stanley where he was the top ranked investment strategist on Wall Street in the annual Institutional Investor research poll in 2002 and 2003. Prior to Morgan Stanley, he was a Partner at Sanford Bernstein where he was a highly ranked analyst in the packaged goods industry and the financial services sector. Steve began his career at Chase Manhattan Bank and also worked at Pzena Investment Management. From 1998 to 2008, Steve was an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University Business School, where he taught securities analysis.
Steve serves on the Board of Trustees of Tufts University and the Board of Directors of Narragansett Brewing Company, Pzena Investment Management and the Success Charter Network. Previously he served on the Board of Trustees of the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia and as an Advisor to the Office of Financial Research appointed by the U.S. Treasury. He received his B.A. (Summa Cum Laude) from Tufts University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
Steve’s humbling professional experiences include being named one of the most influential people on Wall Street while at Morgan Stanley despite the fact he did not rank in the top three in his own family (of four).
Director
Marc Mallett is the Global Head of Whole Office Strategy at Northern Trust, where he is responsible for business strategy, corporate development and solutions consulting. He joined Northern Trust in 2010 as the Global Head of Client Conversions for Northern Trust’s middle office outsourcing product.
Prior to joining Northern Trust, Marc spent 15 years in numerous leadership positions for investment management, technology and consulting companies. Among these, he was Vice President of Technology at Fidelity Investments where he was responsible for developing and executing technology strategy for their equity portfolio managers and research analysts. Most recently Marc led sales and product management for SimCorp in North America. Marc holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Saint Joseph’s College.
Director
Ed recently retired after 28 years at Morgan Stanley as a Managing Director and the Global Head of Prime Brokerage, where he also sat on Morgan Stanley’s Equity Operating Committee and the Prime Brokerage Executive Committee. Prior to his latest role, Ed ran Prime Brokerage in the Americas and Global Equity Sales in the Americas, was head of Morgan Stanley’s Boston office and spent five years with them in London. He graduated from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management and served on the Kellogg Finance Network Advisory Board.
Ed sits on the St. Lawrence Board of Trustees where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He is both a World and National champion in the Sonar sailing class. He and his wife, Sara, have three children.
Senior Advisor
Jon is the founder of Anduril Partners, an investment and advisory firm focused on scaling high potential early stage technology companies. Jon has over 18 years of technology and financial services experience as a portfolio manager, chief data officer, and serving on several board roles including Aiera (advanced, self-learning models, augmented with human insight), Aptiviti (360-degree due diligence platform for leaders and decision makers), Crux Informatics (ETL data delivery platform for the financial industry), Equity Data Science (data analytics process platform as a service), Prattle (automates investment research by quantifying language). He recently served as a board advisor for Kensho Technologies (artificial intelligence for financial services) until the largest acquisition of its kind by S&P Global.
Previously, Jon was the Chief Data Officer at Goldman Sachs Fundamental Equities, the first appointed role in the Asset Management division after demonstrating industry leading return on invested capital metrics as Portfolio Manager on the Technology Opportunities fund (AUM growth from ~$600M to $4B) through a data driven approach. Jon earned a BA in Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas in 2000 and an MBA from the University of Chicago in 2008.
Advisor
Luke Warford is Co-Founder and President of Parsifal Capital Management. From 2011 to 2018, he was the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for Bridger Management. Prior to becoming Bridger Management’s COO/CFO in 2011, he was the firm’s Head Trader. From 2001to 2004, Luke was an equity trader for Strong Capital Management. Luke graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2001 with a BBA in Finance and a minor in Theology. Luke was also a member of the Notre Dame men’s varsity tennis team.
Advisor
Sean Lee is the Chief Technology Officer at Columbia Investment Management Company which manages Columbia University’s endowment. Prior to joining Columbia, he was Chief Technology Officer at PointState Capital and spent a decade as Co-Chief Technology Officer at Coatue Management where he delivered alpha generating technology platforms. Before working in the investment management industry, Sean was a Senior Solutions Architect at IBM.
Advisor
Les Strauss is a retired senior financial executive with an extensive background in high technology companies. Les retired in 1997 from the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Secretary at PictureTel Corporation a market leader in video-conferencing equipment. He was CFO for seven years when PictureTel grew from $20 Million in revenues to $480 Million. Les has served on the boards of several venture backed start-ups.
