Test Engineer

You will act as the gatekeeper of product quality.

As a test engineer you should have expertise in planning, developing, and executing manual test scripts by creating high quality test cases. You will be responsible to drive quality in solutions by following quality processes and methodologies and leverage various testing techniques including manual and automation approaches. This role is a key role and will help streamline/set up our quality processes by introducing new automation testing tools/techniques and evaluating deliverables by working with the product and engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the development team to understand project requirements and specifications.
2. Design and implement test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
3. Execute manual and automated tests to ensure the quality of software applications.
4. Identify, document, and track software defects to resolution.
5. Perform regression testing and ensure the overall stability of software releases.
6. Utilize testing frameworks and scripting languages such as Java and Python for test automation.
7. Proficient in SQL to conduct database testing and ensure data integrity.
8. Conduct in-depth post-release/post-implementation testing by executing test cases and analyzing results on different platforms.
9. Communicate effectively with team members, developers, and other stakeholders.
10. Provide clear and detailed reports on testing progress, issues, and results.​​

Qualifications / Desired Skills:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2. Proven experience in software testing and quality assurance.
3. Strong knowledge of testing frameworks and scripting languages, particularly Java and Python.
4. Proficient in SQL for database testing.
5. Working knowledge with tools such as API Testing, Selenium, BDD/Cucumber, TestNG, and database testing.
6. Familiarity with AWS services and environments.
7. Ability to quickly adapt to new programming languages and technologies.
8. Excellent logical and analytical skills.
9. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
10. Demonstrate logical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex issues.
11. Willingness to learn new programming languages as needed for the project.

Nice to have:

1. Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools.
2. Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
3. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
4. Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) is a plus.
