Account Executive – New Business Sales

About the Role:

The Account Executive – New Business Sales position is a key driver of revenue growth for EDS within hedge fund and asset management firms globally. This role will drive substantial growth of prospective clients and will facilitate new business opportunities for EDS. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding team player, relationship builder, and is uniquely adept at uncovering, developing, and executing on long- and short-term opportunities for the firm. The candidate will assist in the entire sales process from researching and qualifying prospects through to close.  This role will develop into a Senior Sales position with direct impact on the company achieving its revenue goals.

We are searching for candidates with 3+ years of experience including those that are more experienced and are looking for a new challenge to drive growth in New Business Sales.

To capitalize on the tremendous growth opportunity we have in front of us, we are seeking an ambitious, hardworking, and motivated Salesperson.

The Account Executive will partner closely with the Heads of Sales and Marketing along with other key executives at the organization to execute on the business plan and to accelerate the acquisition of new clients.


 

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this role include prospecting, lead generation, and successful management of the entire sales process.  In addition, the Account Executive is expected to:

  1. Become familiar with the Total Addressable Market (TAM) – organizing and prioritizing this list based on where EDS has had success in the past
  2. Research and develop a strategy for a focused list of prospects.  Update Salesforce with relevant information on the prospect such as strategy, AUM, key contacts, etc.
  3. Qualify opportunities and manage the sales process
  4. Maintain a high level of activity
  5. Build and maintain a strong pipeline
  6. Maintain up-to-date Information on the buying drivers of the prospects and competitive knowledge
  7. Help Marketing to qualify incoming leads and to develop marketing campaigns to drive lead generation
  8. Develop expert knowledge of the EDS solutions and be familiar with the financial industry
  9. Present effective demos to prospects, understanding the prospects’ needs and showcasing EDS’s value proposition relative to those needs and to our competition
  10. Initiate and successfully run POCs
  11. Understand the EDS pricing and negotiate strategically to price and close deals
  12. Help uncover new workflows within clients to monetize content through expansion opportunities
  13. Provide feedback to EDS Strategists and Product Developers to enhance and improve our products​

 

Desired Skills / Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience
  2. 3+ years of proven success in a sales and/or client facing role
  3. Enthusiasm, desire, and a strong sense of initiative
  4. Drive to exceed goals, looks beyond immediate responsibility
  5. Excellent organizational and time management skills
  6. Excellent communication (written and spoken), presentation, and interpersonal skills
  7. Ability to understand clients’ workflows and translate them into EDS solutions
  8. Ability to develop relationships with senior stakeholders, both at prospects and within EDS
  9. Ability to maintain confidence and composure in stressful situations

 

Preferred Skills:

  1. Previous sales experience is preferred but not essential
  2. A high level of business, industry, and competitive awareness is preferred but not essential
